I don’t know about you, but I’ve needed a lot of distraction over the past couple of months, and finding a good book makes all the difference.
Here are five steamy romances that I read to escape—plus five new books I am waiting (somewhat) patiently to read when they're finally released.
Island Affair
I always enjoy the make-believe fiancé trope, and this book takes readers to the Caribbean to boot.
The family dynamics for the heroine are perfectly done, and the hero is a sexy hottie with impressive strength. Island Affair definitely took me away for a while.
The Highlander's Christmas Bride
I love Vanessa Kelly’s romances, and this one, about a spirited heroine who was deserted by her arranged fiancé before she failed as a nun, is one of my favorites.
The hero is a hottie Highlander (meow) who’s a single dad, and the setting is around Christmas.

Queen Move
I’m all about destiny and soulmates when it comes to romance, and this book has both in buckets.
It’s sweet and sexy, and I got lost for a while in the heartfelt connection between the characters. This one is definitely a keeper.

The Deception
I’ve read this one a few times, and I just love the action, romance, and danger.
It’s easy to escape for a while with Hawk Maddox and the case the characters are pursuing, coupled with the emotional stakes for them both. I highly recommend this book.
Butterfly Bayou
This is a new series by Lexi, and it has all of the snarky humor, sexy romance, and heart-pulling emotion as her other series.
The characters are three-dimensional and intriguing, and the setting in Louisiana makes me want to visit right now.
