Once upon a time, fanfiction was something you were warned to keep private. Nowadays, it’s part of the mainstream publishing machine. Where it was once considered taboo to file the serial numbers off your fanfic and release it as your original work, it’s a commonplace practice. Not only that but these titles now advertise their fanfic origins with pride. And why not? These titles have sold millions of copies, topped the bestseller lists, and been made into successful movies.

The story also takes inspiration from The Handmaid's Tale, imaging an alternate wizarding universe where Voldemort wins.
