Despite the seemingly vast selection of shows to stream, it's sometimes still hard to find a bingeable series that you and your partner are equally obsessed with! Instead of spending the length of an episode aimlessly scrolling through all the platforms, take a look at this roundup.

Whether you’re into sports, history, horror, humor, music, or pop culture (or a blend), at least one of the romance-y shows on this list promises to appeal to both you and your partner’s taste in TV. Cuddle up and press play!

Normal People

Looking for a guaranteed tear-jerker? Trust me, Normal People is the show for you and your partner. Despite being only twelve episodes, this series permanently altered my brain chemistry the first time I watched it.

The show, which made its U.S. premiere in 2020 on Hulu, follows the complicated relationship between Marianne Sheridan (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell Waldron (Paul Mescal), throughout years of secondary school and university in Ireland.

It appeals to women and men alike, and offers an incredibly intimate portrait of human connection and vulnerability that I haven’t seen in a show/movie, like ever. Although the overarching plot may seem potentially mundane, this series will keep you hooked through its all-too-relatable portrayal of loss, insecurity, and our innate inclination to love and be loved.

Normal People is also based on a book of the same name by Sally Rooney!

Love is Blind

If you and your partner are in the mood for something more light-hearted, Love is Blind is the perfect bingeworthy show for you. It’s a reality TV “experiment” that has taken the country by storm, stopping in different destinations for participants from across the nation to fall in love and get engaged without seeing their partner.

The first half of each season involves “pod” dates—talking through a wall—that lead to an engagement, and the second half follows the couples as they navigate the real world after finally seeing each other. Every season ends with each couple at their wedding, deciding whether or not to say “I do”. What could go wrong?

You’ll have to watch and find out! Love is Blind has nine seasons, each in a different U.S. city, and is streaming on Netflix.

Outlander

If you or your partner are into historical fantasy, Outlander is without a doubt the show for you!

Set in Scotland, the show jumps back and forth between 1945 and 1743, as former WWII military nurse Claire finds herself transported to the 18th century, where she meets an enchanting Highland warrior, Jamie. They fall in love, despite the centuries between them, and Claire is thrown into the chaos of the Jacobite rising.

This show is truly the perfect mix of history and romance, and promises to have you pressing “keep watching” after the end of every episode. There are also now eight seasons streaming on Netflix, so it’s a great show to keep you and your partner hooked for months.

Outlander is based on the book series by the same name, so if you love the show, read the book next!

Daisy Jones and the Six

For anyone who loves music and romance, Daisy Jones and the Six is a must-watch. This easily-bingeable show is a great pick for any couple who wants to hear an incredible original soundtrack (led by Elvis’s granddaughter, the immensely talented Riley Keough) and also watch intense, 70’s-esque LA music-scene drama.

While a work of historical fiction, the story is formatted semi-documentarily, and viewers quickly spotted a resemblance to early Fleetwood Mac performances. I finished this series in one sitting— it was that good— and the mix of music and storytelling made it an unpausable watch.

Nobody Wants This

The first season of Nobody Wants This premiered on Netflix in 2024, gaining attention from all demographics and receiving tons of positive praise. It was one of the first really good rom-coms in what felt like years, and it centers on the unlikely budding relationship between a loud, agnostic woman (Kristen Bell), and a rabbi (Adam Brody). Seeing Brody as anything other than Seth Cohen (The OC), is disorienting at first, but his chemistry with Bell quickly pulls viewers under their magnetic spell.

The second season premiered recently, and Brody’s real life wife, Leighton Meester, joined the cast for a new hilarious batch of episodes.

You

If you and your partner are looking for a psychological thriller with elements of twisted romance, you must watch You. This show follows Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), a bookstore manager and secret serial killer who becomes deeply, and dangerously, infatuated with women.

The show first premiered in 2018, and quickly became a hit series—it went on to be renewed for an additional four seasons after the first. It’s the perfect watch for any couple who wants to be enthralled with a mind-bending, unpredictable, darkly romantic show.

You is also based on a book! If you love the show, read the book next!

Heated Rivalry

In case you somehow missed the phenomenon that is Heated Rivalry, this show follows two rival professional hockey players, Canadian Shane Hollander and Russian Ilya Rozanov, whose tension on ice unravels into a secret, steamy romance on land.

The show is based on the book Game Changer by Rachel Reid, and has taken pop culture by storm, with viewers begging for a second season.

If you’re looking for a quick, hot, and fresh show to watch as a couple, Heated Rivalry promises to please. It’s currently streaming on HBO Max, with only six episodes in the first batch of episodes.
